I was traveling along Rt. 33 the other day, and thought that this area could use a new cache. So, I tossed this MHK out of the car window. At that instant, I marked the above 'tudes on my GPS.
Close enough, right?
Here's some information to help you find the cache:
- My rate of travel was 65 mph.
- The trajectory of the MHK was an angle of 45°.
- The direction that the cache traveled from the point of origin was due east, or on a bearing of 90°.
All the information you need to solve this puzzle is on the cache page.
You may assume the acceleration of gravity on the earth's surface to be 9.81 m/s/s.
Atmospheric drag is neglected.
The height of the car window and the spot on the guardrail where the cache landed happen to be same, when all factors are considered.
For the sake of this experiment, wind, driving direction, force with which the MHK was thrown, sunspots, and meta-physical forces have been pre-calculated, and the MHK traveled on a bearing of 90°.
