“Placed in the area of São Vicente it’s a very nice and informative attraction which is worth to visit: The Lime Route. In Portuguese Rota da Cal”.

The job was very hard. The baskets filled with stones were up to 100 kg and had to be carried by feet from the quarry to the limekiln. The museum shows a short movie how lime was produced in the past. Spend this time and watch it. And a cool drink you can have at the bar at the museum..”

“Situada na zona de São Vicente é uma atração muito agradável e informativa que vale a pena visitar: a Rota da Cal. Em português Rota da Cal”.

O trabalho foi muito difícil. Os cestos cheios de pedras chegavam a pesar 100 kg e tinham que ser carregados a pé desde a pedreira até ao forno de cal. O museu mostra um curta-metragem sobre como a cal era produzida no passado. Aproveite esse tempo e assista. E uma bebida gelada que você pode tomar no bar do museu.”
