Geocache Description:

Cache is not at the above coordinates. To complete this cache, you will find clues in the other related caches in "The Treasure of the Leaky Spoon." Copy these down to find the treasure.

In the golden days, when rum was aplenty, there was a well-known Pirate ship called the Leaky Spoon. They boldly sailed the seas of North Reno with no thoughts pertaining to anything other than which cache to sail towards next. Twasn’t a wealthy crew, but they had plenty of swag with to do what they wanted. They were a happy crew and Cap’n Rusty treated them well.

Grasshopper, Cap’n Rusty’s Bos’n was a fine sea hand, he was. The Cap’n knew Grasshopper would tell him true and twas ne’er concerned that Grasshopper might let a job fall short. Twas Grasshopper who clapped eyes on the privateers that fateful day and hopped off to tell the Cap’n.

Quickly calling a gathering on the deck, Cap’n Rusty surveyed the balance of his crew…Buttercup, the Galley Slave (though she wasn’t really a slave), the goodly youngsters Pete and Tink (who were never separated and nobody was really sure who was who) and valiant Rockstar, the Spoon’s musical and comedic entertainment. Fearing the worst, the company chose that they would divide up one half of the treasure and flee. The other and more valuable half would be taken by the Cap’n, who had a proper place to put the treasure. Each of the brotherhood was given a scrap of paper. Each scrap had written on it a portion of a clue to find the final treasure, hidden by Cap’n Rusty.
Even as the privateers bore down upon the Leaky Spoon, each of four dinghies slipped from the ship and each crewman silently rowed away to safety. Throughout that long and moonless night, there were no sounds other than the quiet slap of their oars in the still water, to be sure.

When morning arose, each set about their command to go to four opposing shores and place their cache of treasure.

With their designated tasks completed, each crew member ventured to their agreed meeting place. It was several days before each crew member arrived and they all anxiously awaited Cap’n Rusty. Finally, off in the distance, was the Leaky Spoon! She was limping into port, her flag torn and her sides badly damaged. On deck, Cap’n Rusty stood proudly.

The Crew gathered around their beloved Cap’n, who explained the long and difficult battle he had taken upon their behalf. After days of fighting alone, the Cap’n had finally beaten the privateers, ‘tis beyond doubt. He decided to place his portion of the treasure cache in its safe spot anyway, just in case he was unable to return to his crew.

Now, since so much time had passed the crew was quite ready to retire and live life on that warm and sultry island. They quickly conferred that they would all go gather the caches of treasure and sail off into the sunset. One look at the Leaky Spoon, however, and everyone could tell that she wasn’t up to the task. Not only that, Cap’n Rusty was a little bit out of focus as to where he hid his portion!
The Cap’n and crew agreed that they would call upon all their fair sailing brethren to help find them their treasure, as it were. A piece of the map should still be in each of the four smaller caches, and upon putting them together, a finder should be able to locate the Treasure of the Leaky Spoon.
