Geocache Description:

In 1912, the construction of JiaoBanshan-SanShing Old trail provided a short path to cross over the Hsuehshan Range. The Lahao Bridge, Balung Bridge, and Taman River Bridge were the major suspension bridges in the old trail. They are renewed as Fusing Bridge, Baling Bridge and Dahan Bridge now.
The vanished Balung Suspension Bridge was built in 1914, it was the key to connect Balung to the west area. The bridge was abandoned once Route 7 was built in 1950's. The remains were the memorial tower and old Balung tunnel.
