Mise nalepka Mystery Cache

  This mystery cache wants to show you a part of Kobylisy and a little bit of Strizkov, two Prague's quarters. You may already know some of those places. The whole journey is about 3km long, but on some legs you can use public transportation.

  2011 June 16th went on a large maintenance action. We made better and clear identification of the path, so there should be no problem to complete the cache.
  So just obey the rule:

  The first stop is near Kobylisy station. On given coordinates is located The House of The Bible. It is quite interesting structure, which started to serve in 200A. Inside has its headquarters Czech Bible Society. This company issues Czech translation of the Bible, Christian literature, provides publishing services for churches and is collecting money for spreading the Bible. The origin of this society was not simple at all, you can read about it more on their websites, but I couldn't find English version, so you have to search. After all they sell Bibles in foreign languages too.

  Next stop is in the middle of science. For the first sight it is not clear, but in this calm area is localized many of researching laboratories of Czech Academy of Sciences. If you look from given coordinates to the NW, you can see building of the Institute of Physics AS CR (entry is from Na Slovance Street). Here are running researches on field of physics of elementary particles, optics (wave and particle character of light), physical characteristics of nanostructures, intensive radiation sources (such as lasers) and interactions of matter and radiation. Further projects are from solid state physics.
  If you look to the SW, you can see the Institute of Computer Science AS CR. The theory and application of informatics, artificial intelligence and computing mathematics are researched there.
  And on S stands the Institute of Information Theory and Automation. The cybernetics and informatics are researched there. Also the development of theory of systems and random processes for mathematic simulation purposes and automatic controlling is being exploring here.
  Except those institutions, you can find in those buildings Oriental Institute AS CR, Czechoslovak-Chinese Society, Czech Society for Cybernetics and Computer Science and few more.

  Next stop leads you to reconstructed water supply tower. Cylindric tower of Liben's water supply was built between years 1903 and 1904 by architect František Schlaffer. It is 42 m high and looks like a lighthouse. The capacity of the tank was 178 1BC m3 of water. It supplied lower parts of Liben. After construction of the north part of Prague, there were built new pumping stations and so this water supply was abandoned. The inner equipment was dismantled and in the late sixties it was repaired to preserve it as an architectonic monument.
   In the year 1991 the tower was claimed as a cultural monument. Its contemporary owner is reconstructing it to private residence. About the reconstruction there is an article in Czech here, so for non-czech speaking readers there are just few pictures.

  Next stop is near a side gate of the New Jewish Cemetery. Jewish public in Liben was during its time the third largest in the Czech lands. This new cemetery was built far away from the centre of Liben, on border between Kobylisy and Strizkov (today it is located next to the main road from Kobylisy to Prosek.) It was established in 1893 and for its purposes was used up to the year 19DE. After the World War II it was reduced and the unused area was given to another users. In the end of the 20th century the Jewish Community of Prague began to take care. There is about 300 graves mostly from the end of the 19th century. The main entrance to the cemetery was through the ceremonial building from Davidkova Street. Today there is an hostel in this building.
  In spite of this you can take a look in the graveyard through the side gate here. The graveyard is despite the long term closure, or maybe thanks to it, really interesting and mystical place, about which not everybody knows.

  The last stop is near tramway loop Dablice. When the tramway traffic from Strelnicna to Sidliste Dablice was started on 3rd Januaray 1971, the new loop became an interesting part of the track. In the beginning it was designed to have only two tracks, but between years 1982 and 1984 was built additional third one. The capacity of this loop (without transit possibility) is 32 cars of T type.
  Not far from here is one way stop called Trebenicka. It is interesting thanks to its location under the ground level of its surroundings and of the stylized old logo of the Prague Public Transportation Company sculpture on the other side of the stop.

  Think carefully where you will step to find the cache. There is no need to walk in dangerous areas. During the pick up of the cache be careful, because you can be watched from many places.
  In the box should be a pencil and a logbook. If you want to trade, use stickers only, please. We would like to trade only stickers, so it will be really sticky cache. ;-)
