Vapor grego Andreos, afundou em 1926. Destroço a 27 metros, com visibilidade média 12/15 metros e grau de dificuldade médio com corrente sempre presente; Local de eleição dos Peixe Lua, Safio, Lavagante e por vezes um Mero.
VAPOR do TRIGO
O Andreos construido por N. Goulandris Bros. & Z. A. Vrondisis em 1901,ía de Novorossisk para Falmouth, quando encalhou nas Berlengas a 20 Novembro de 1926, devido a um temporal. Levava um carregamento de trigo, daí o nome. Provavelmente encalhou no Cerro da Velha.
Veio de Lisboa o Patrão Lopes para proceder à destruição dos mastros, que constituiam perigo para a navegação.
Foram usadas duas cargas de explosivo de 125 kilos cada uma. Dizem que a explosão foi violentissima, mais do que se esperava. Esta "demolição" foi o principio do que se veio a fazer no Andreos, que tal como o Primavera e outros destroços da zona, foram explorados pela empresa de salvados SOMAR.
Para chegares ao ponto inicial tens que mergulhar nas coordenadas indicadas, aos 24/26 metros de profundidade (dependendo das marés), deverás chegar às Caldeiras do barco, nadar 10m a norte das mesmas e debaixo de uma chapa encontras a cache.
Da mesma apenas tens que ler dois números, por favor não removas a cache do local.
Antes de iniciares a subida para a superfície, usa a lanterna e repara nos enormes safios que habitam dentro das caldeiras. Se te quiseres afastar dos destroços não te esqueças que esta é uma zona de correntes constantes, o uso de linha pode ser uma boa ideia para continuares a visita.

Para que o log seja aceite, deverás para além de logar na cache final (que se encontra em Peniche), tirar uma fotografia junto da primeira cache (no naufrágio), e anexar ao teu log.

Wheat Steamship
The Greek steamship Andreos sunk here in 1926. The remains of the ship can be found at 89 feet deep, average visibility of 39/49 feet and medium difficulty with permanent tide. It is a privileged place to spot sunfishes, sea eel, lobsters, and if you’re really lucky, a jewfish.
Andreos was built by N. Goulandris Bros & Z. A. Vrondisis in 1901. It was going from Novorossisik to Falmouth, when it runs aground in Berlengas on the 20h of November 1926, due to a storm.
It carried a shipment of wheat, and that’s why it is still known in these parts by the Wheat Steamship. It probably ran aground in Cerro da Velha.
From Lisbon came Master Lopes to destroy the ship’s masts, as they were a hazard to navigation. In order to do that, 250 kilos of explosives where used, which caused a violent explosion, stronger than expected.
To get to the initial point, you have to dive on the given coordinates, and about 79/85 feet deep (depending on the tide) you should find the steam-boilers of the ship, swim 10 meters north and find the cache below the steel.
For this first cache you only need to read 2 numbers. Please do not remove the cache from the spot.
Before initiating your way up to surface, use the lantern and check the huge sea eels that live inside the boilers. If you want to move away from the shipwrecks, please remember that there are constant tides in this area; please use a line to continue the visit safely.
