Entrance to the Haunted Hollow !
The above co-ordinates are not the location of the Cache
Hello everyone.... being new to Geocaching, I was eager to make my first Cache an interesting one..... and I think i've managed it....lol
I was on holiday with my family and had looked for various cache's that were en-route to and from our holiday route to Cornwall, and noticed that there were none recorded for Alton Towers..? (our last stop of our holiday before heading home.....Am I a first to place....?....lol)
Having spent the day scouting around the grounds for a suitable location, I had originally been looking around the gardens to place the cache, as the Gardens are absolutely magnificent, however (as expected....) there were far too many muggles to attempt any such placement.... however, going through the 'Haunted Hollow' provided enough cover and opportunity to 'hide' the cache....
The above co-ordinates are not the exact location of the cache... the tree cover was playing havoc with the gps unit,
so, the co-ordinates are the entrance to the Haunted Hollow (also marked 'Shortcut to Mutiny Bay')
From here you will need to follow the monoblock path down approx 20yds, where on your left, you will see an old stone pillar and small moss covered wall. This is the location of the Cache....
This cache will provide a certain 'challenge' as muggles will be everywhere....lol..
Good Luck !!
