Geocache Description:

An easy fun cache for everyone.

This is a small cache with a log book, and writing implement. There is some room for small trade items.
But please don’t place any travel bugs here as it could be susceptible to muggling.
Please park on the frontage road for your safety.
Sorry to say that the business located across the road has succumbed to the harsh economic times. As of 9-13-09 there were only two bull elk left.. Hopefully things will recover and so will the elk ranch?

This cache is located across the highway from Crackles Elk Ranch. The cache location is a great vantage point to view some magnificent Elk or “Wapati” as they were called by the once indigenous Ute Indians. Believe us, there are some really fine specimens of these animals located here. The white female or cow Elk is named “Spirit” and she is not an albino, she is a true White Elk. This is a very rare color for elk. The name of the cache also stems from the fact that this cache is located on a county road locally known as “Round Bottom Road”. It is called this because it dead ends on private property at a ninety degree curve in the Yampa River that creates a large round piece of bottomland.
Please use some care in replacing the cache as it is a popular area for the walkers and joggers who live in the apartments and subdivisions located close to here. Don’t forget the camera, as you’ll want pictures of the elk.
This cache should be available from early spring until mid fall.
Be sure to look for my multicaches in the Craig area. The coordinate cache and treasure cache are located very close to each other to make the finds as fast as possible.
