A Geocaching event for Taranaki geocachers and their supporters on Sunday September 7th 2008 commencing at 12pm at Lake Rotomanu at the co-ordinates given.
This event will take place close to the the co-ordinates of the 'Run Around Rotomanu' cache set by smokinggun. Those who have not solved the former cache may like to arrive earlier andblow out the cobwebs by solving this one! Be sure to be back at the GZ for kai and a cup of tea by 12pm though!:P The event will end at 2pm, or when the last person has left.
The aim of this cache is twofold.
Firstly, it provides an opportunity for cachers in Taranaki and the surrounding area (and those keen beans in the area at the time) an opportunity to put a name and face to the nome-de-cacher, display geocoins,TBs, swap stories and reminisce about the caches that defied description and tested patience.
Bring a thermos, some lunch and a sense of adventure.
Secondly, the cache celebrates the majesty and magnificence of the North Taranaki Coast by having a best decorated cache container competition. So bring a cache container and be ready to tell everyone what your favourite cache containers are, and what your best hide/find has been.
Who knows you might see the cache containers between Motunui and Uruti, at Onaero, Urenui, Waitoetoe, Mimi and Pukearuhe in the near future.
So if you are interested, bring a decorated and some trinkets for your cache container. PENS and blank LOGBOOKS will be provided by TreMichlan so that if you want to you place cache in the future you are all ready to go! It is not compulsory to bring a container, however, just a bit of added fun.
Participants also have the option of completing the 'Mt Davidson' and 'Mohakatino Heads' caches which may be en route for some of you after the event.
