Uzemie Petrzalky sa v ramci Mnichovskej zmluvy priclenilov roku 1939 k Rakusku. Po oslobodeni Bratislavy v aprili 1945 Cervena armada oslobodila aj Petrzalku. Sucastou Bratislavy sa stala v roku 1947.
