islander1988: Well, Andreevsky Descent is a great part of Kyiv to visit, but this cache has experienced its share of muggles and moves over the years. Unfortunately I can't find a new spot and restore the cache in the near future, so I guess it's time to let this one go.

After 10+ years and closing in on 400 finds, another Kyiv cache by Islander1988 sails off into the sunset. Thanks to all the visitors over the past decade! Happy caching.

Geocache Description:

A quick cache stop near Andreevsky Descent.

Andriyivskyy Descent (or Andriyivskyy Spusk as it is called locally) is a popular destination for souvenir shopping. The historic brick street starts near Kontraktova Square and winds up the steep hill to Saint Andrew's Church. During the summer it is a busy spot with tourists & locals, and street vendors line the ascent selling everything from t-shirts to paintings to magnets to traditional Ukrainian clothing (Vyshyvanka).



This cache is close to the descent on a relatively quiet side street. Please be careful not to attract attention while retrieving the cache. The cache is about 2.5m up, hidden on the side of a sign on a post by the sidewalk.
