You will need a boat of some sort to score this cache (we used a canoe) It is on a small island in Chemo Pond; which is why it has a 4 terrain rating. It can be accessed via the public boat launch for Chemo Pond (but you do have to pay); roughly these coords: N44'49.597/W68'35.628
There is a free way to the lake that I know of (it's how I got in) but you need a high clearance vehicle to get to it. You go in via Leonard's Mill and take Government Road to these co-ords: N44.50.056 / W068.35.924. There is a small, rocky road that will lead you to the edge of the lake. I had to put my Toyota Tacoma in 4 wheel drive to get back up this road.
Once in the water, head to these coords for an easy place to beach your canoe or kayak: N44'50.028/W68'35.478 - the cache is nearby... The cache is a round tupperware container painted in camo.
I do not know if this place is good for a motor boat, as I do not own one.

My dog Kenna and I ended up here on the shoreline one day while mountain biking through UMaine's Experimental Forest. We scored a find at Leonard Mills and decided to continue on and see what the "pond" was. 4 1/2 miles later we stumbled onto this pond (more like a lake) and thought that the island would be a great place to hide a cache.
So a few days later with my wife in tow, we canoed out to the island and placed the cache. I hope that you enjoy the area and there is a "medal" for the FTF. Good Luck!
Original container was missing on January 5, 2014, so a temporary micro was placed. It will be replaced soon. This island is Lousy Island. There are no facilities for shelter or overnight stays. It is owned by Maine Dept Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, Division of Parks and Public Lands. It is placed with their cooperation and permission. Enjoy the experience. Please practice CITO GC
