Geocache Description:

You are looking for a 1 litre tupperware box near St Margaret's Church in the village of Bagendon. It is wheel-chair accessible. Room for small TBs and swaps, and coins. The cache is only accessible from outside.

St Margaret's Bagendon is one of four parishes making up the United Benefice of Stratton, North Cerney, Bagendon and Baunton, to which I have a family connection. Each parish has, or will shortly have, its own cache. They can be done individually or on a circular walk, of approximtely 8 miles (I think).

The present church was started around 1100 and remodelled in the Perpendicular style in the 15th century. Saxon & Norman fragments are still visible. The bell tower was originally divided into two small chambers to be used by visiting priests. The church is open dawn til dusk daily, and visitors are always welcome. Generally, Sunday services are at 10.00 a.m.

The village of Bagendon is extremely venerable, being the capital of the local Cornivii tribe in pre-Roman times - today it is an idyllic rural back-water. Which does draw attention to people looking for caches, so sensitive to locals when rummaging around, and be careful for watchers.

Parking shouldn't be a problem near the cache - though please don't block any driveways or accesses.
