WHERE: First National Bank of Paris Community Center, 25 East Main Street, Paris AR 72855

The listed coordinates will get you to the parking lot of the First National Bank of Paris Community Center.

This event will take place even in the event of rain, sleet, snow, ice, sunshine, or etc.

There will be a meal, contests, temporary caches, surprises and hopefully a bunch of cache talk and caching.

There is no cost to attend the event of course but prize donations are welcomed. Please e-mail paris1time @ paris1time@yahoo.com if you would like to donate a prize.

The meal will be “pot luck” @ 11:30 AM. Please bring a dish and 2-liter of your favorite soda.

We will have ice, coffee and tea. We will also furnish some hot dogs for the kids. Please call paris1time @ (479.518.0812) or e-mail paris1time@yahoo.com with what you plan on bringing. A list will be placed in a thread on the Arkansas Geocachers Association forum.

Cache Ca$h Dash & Cache Ca$h Auction


The premier event will be the Cache Ca$h Dash and the Cache Ca$h Auction.

There will be five temporary caches placed the day of the event that represent some of the types of caches hidden in geocaching. Those placed on the day of the event will be temporary caches to represent a traditional, multi-stage, letterbox, puzzle/mystery, and virtual cache.

Those who choose to participate in the Cache Ca$h Dash will receive a temporary cache sheet the day of the event that will have the details on how to find the caches. Once all of the caches have been found the participant will receive a sealed envelope containing Cache Ca$h (specially marked play money).

Participants will then be able to use their Cache Ca$h to bid on items up for auction in the Cache Ca$h Auction. The twist: you will not be able to see the item up for bid because it will be placed inside a container and the auction will end without notice. Participants will also be able to do what ever they want to do with their Cache Ca$h by using it, giving it away, or pooling with others to bid on items.




Photo Contest


We love to take photos while out caching and we know many of do also. We thought this would be a great time (especially if the weather does not cooperate) to show those photos off. The contest rules are simple:

(1) The submitting cacher must have taken the photo
(2) The photo must have been taken while geocaching

Bring your favorite photo(s) to be displayed (It’s up to you how you present the photo (frame, matted, etc.)). Those attending will be allowed to vote for their favorite. If you plan on bringing a photo to submit for the contest please place a label on the back of the photo/frame with your name, Cache name, and waypoint for the photo.


Cacher Chaos


Cachers will receive an envelope containing a list of words and also several copies of one of the words on the list. The goal is for the cacher to keep one of their copies of the word in their envelope and then trade their extra copies with other cahcers for the other words on the list in their envelope. The first three cachers to get copies of all of the words on their list and turn them in will win a prize.

If you had the chance to see this game played at the last two events in Paris you know why we call it "Chaos".




Travel Bugs and Geocoins


Bring your travel bugs and geocoins to show off. If you plan on bringing geocoins and travelbugs to the event and would e-mail paris1time @ paris1time@yahoo.com with the details for them he will prepare a list to help people to spend more time looking and sharing than having to write tracking numbers down.


Please post a “Will Attend” if you plan on coming and tell us how many in your party will be coming so we can plan accordingly. If you plan on attending e-mail paris1time @ paris1time@yahoo.com with the number in your group that plan on attending and what you plan on bringing for the meal. Please add this listing to your "Watchlist" and watch for updates as the event approaches.
