Geocache Description:

SideTracked Caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-dashes at railway stations. For more information on SideTracked Caches, please visit SideTracked at http://groups.msn.com/CacheWalker/sidetracked.msnw. This cache is just outside the station entrance and shouldn't prove to be a major challenge.

Box Hill and Westhumble station is in a rural location on the line from London to Horsham via Dorking. Most services run to and from Victoria and are provided by Southern, but South West Trains running a few services to and from Waterloo as well. Trains are more frequent at weekends, as the area is very popular with walkers - the famous hill is close by, and there are lots of beautiful places in the vicinity.

The name has changed a few times over the years, taking on various combinations of "Boxhill", "Box Hill", "Westhumble" and "West Humble"! The current form was adopted by Southern following a consultation with local residents in 2006.

The station is unstaffed and has been for some years, but fortunately the very impressive and ornate station building has survived and is now in private hands. The station is very well-kept and worth visiting, so I felt it deserved a cache! You're looking for a small plastic clip-box which has room for a few small swaps. It contains a couple of starter swaps and a First To Find Certificate. There's lots of other caches to find in the area too, so happy hunting!
