Geocache Description:

Nano cache in a public park.

Forgotten Houses is a series of caches near grand old houses that have either been demolished or have fallen into disrepair. Feel free to add other caches to this series if you know of any forgotten houses in your area..

This cache is near the site of Sayes Court, named after Edmund Say who owned the mansion in the 1400s, it was acquired by Henry VIII and in later years was home to James Paine, architect of nearby Chertsey Bridge and railway engineer John Urpeth Rastrick.

The building, which contained 30 rooms and had 6 acres of garden was re-modelled several times, but when it was last sold in 1925, it was said to be "now dismantled except the Western Portion".

The carriage drive and avenue of lime trees survives as a residential road of the same name, and Sayes Court Lodge, on the corner of the road is now a private residence.

You are looking for a black nano cache. Tweezers are recommended for extracting the log, signing with initials is fine to save space on the small logsheet.
