Geocache Description:

In the middle of Slovenia, on the northern hillsides of the Lower Carniola region, 412 meters above sea level is situated the Renaissance Bogenšperk Castle.

Today’s form of the castle was built after the year 1511, when the old medieval fortress was damaged in the earthquake. Bogenšperk is well-known to public for its architectural elements but as well as the home of the famous polyhistor and researcher Janez Vajkard Valvasor (born in the year 1641). He has been the only member of the British Royal Society from our country ever since. He owed the castle in the years 1672-1692. During his stay at the castle he was writing his famous works.

The castle is open: Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 to 17:00 (10:00 to 18:00 July and August)
Sunday and Holiday from 10:00 to 18:00 (10:00 to 19:00 July and August)
Monday is closed.

The cache is easy to find and recommended for family expeditions. You can find nice park behind the castle and wood covered with narrow tracks. You don't need to enter the castle yard to get the cache.

The cache contains a stash of plushy toys as treasure. We imagine the main purpose of it – to be a cache where you can trade one plushy toy for another. Trading as usual is also welcome, but toys as trading items are preferred.

Original cache contents: logbook + 2 pens, 10 plushy toys (see the picture) and present fore the first finder (DVD and/or photo-camera).
