Hidden at an easy park and grab location in the forest preserve, or slightly more difficult location from the paved bike trail.
You are looking for an ammo box.
Our first hide, so we hope you enjoy finding it!
Our uncle used to take us to the river to throw fallen crab apples into the river, or see how many deer were on the flood plain. We will still be watching from his house close by. As we were hiding this cache, we found a picked-clean deer skull on the ground.
Can get to from bike trail with some difficulty, or easily as park and grab. For the sake of nearby neighbors, please DO NOT walk on their property. No matter what GPS says, please go down to the flood plain and then search from there. The cache will not flood (unless river is amazingly high) but access to the cache will be difficult if river floods. Can be very muddy, but not too much overgrowth.
Cache has log, pen and variety of items for adults and kids.
**Note - the hint below refers to an entrance SOUTH of the cache
