This cache is hidden near Moose Lake in Southern Manitoba.
NOTE:
Crown
land is a fancy way of saying public property, so don't worry
about the "No Dumping sign".
However you are in a provincial park, so you will need a park pass.
The lake was once an open pit mine, until the mine was closed and
was filled with water. Sand for beaches was trucked in, so the sand
here is different from the rest of Manitoba. The cache is a
Tupperware container wrapped in a waterproof green drawstring bag.
I've been told that when the campground on the other side of the
lake was cleared many decades ago, the man tasked with the job
couldn't stand the mosquitoes. Unfortunately, he solved this by
mixing some DDT into the gas tank of his vehicle. It was a few
years before the birds returned.
