Geocache Description:

This is another series of caches which have been placed close to water [stream and pond] along it's whole length, I thought a fishy theme was in order again. Those of you that have done my Owlbeech Ramble series will know what to expect.

This is a micro cache (35mm Flim Case) which contains only a log book and small pencil at the time of publishing.

One of a series of caches to take you on a semi-circular wander through another of Horsham’s hidden treasures, the woods and pond between Coolhurst and Mannings Heath [not far from St. Leonards Forest].

The caches are all just off the footpath, and none are too far from the beaten path. Parking can be found at N 51 03.276 W 000 16.660 [St Leonards Forest] or you might be able to park along Hammer Pond Road near Coolhurst. There is extensive tree cover and GPSr reception may be patchy!

The woodland scene is ever changing through the seasons providing year round interest. The pond, woodland and stream along this walk are used by lots of wildlife.

Starting on Hammer Pond Road taking the footpath that runs down along Coolhurst Wood to the end of Roosthole Pond and along the edge of Alder Copse before ending up on Golding Lane.

If you want to make it a nice circluar walk of about 3 miles in all, then take a look at the map in the gallery as this suggests such a route which will bring you back via Hawkins Pond and St. Leonards Forest back to the parking there, at N 51 03.276 W 000 16.660.

The series consists of caches ranging in size from Micro caches which contain nothing but a log book and a small pencil to Small/Medium caches which contain a log book, pencil, sharpener, pen and are able to contain geocoins, travel bugs and small/medium swaps.

This is a micro cache (35mm Flim Case) which contains only a log book and small pencil at the time of publishing.

You may require some stealth as this is an area used by dog walkers and fishermen, so beware of muggles!

Please Note: None of the caches are in the private woods either side of the footpath, they are all close to the main footpath and none involve trespass or climbing fences that form the boundary of two-thirds of the footpath.

Please ensure that you put it back in exactly the same place and way and replace any camouflage used to ensure that it can't be seen, thanks!
