Geocache Description:

This is a micro [smaller than a 35mm film case] hidden near Littlehaven Station. I decided to place this cache after finding a similar one in Coventry around the middle of May 2008.

Littlehaven railway station serves the areas of Little Haven and Roffey in the northeast of the town of Horsham, West Sussex. It is on the Arun Valley Line, and is the first station out of Horsham on that route heading towards London.

The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway opened the first part of the line in 1848. However, the station at Littlehaven was not opened until 1907; Littlehaven originally opened as Rusper Road Halt and subsequently changed to Littlehaven Crossing Halt and then Littlehaven Halt all within the first year of service.

The station was completely rebuilt with minimal facilities after traffic decreased.

There is a level crossing at the eastern (London) end of the platforms, where the line crosses Rusper Road. The crossing gates were never replaced with modern barriers, and therefore the adjacent signal box is manned 24 hours a day. The only access between the platforms is via the crossing - there is no footbridge or subway.

The cache contains a log book at the time it was placed.

At certain times of the day you may require extreme stealth to retrieve this without being rumbled as this is a very busy area used by commuters [both on foot and in cars] and dog walkers, so beware of muggles!

Please ensure that you replace it carefully and in ensure that it is covered as otherwise it will get lost.
