This small cache reveals another super historical location - Fortress Lesandro. This is a fantastic location overlooking Lake Skadar. Originally it was on an island, built by the most famous of Montenegro's rulers, Petar II Petar II Petrović Njegoš. Look carefully and you may be lucky enough to see a water snake zig-zagging its way across the lake. Tread carefully and you will avoid treading on a terrestrial one. At certain times of the year, snakes are quite plentiful so BEWARE. Both the dog we were looking after and I walked within a few centimetres of a medium sized Montpelier snake before it was spotted by Susie. Although venomous, they rarely cause harm because of the recessed position of the fangs. Treat all snakes with care though. A careful retreat was made but not before cache was successfully placed with two Travel bugs and a couple of small gifts to start with. Park at the nearby visitor centre and USE GREAT CARE CROSSING THE TRAIN LINE. BEWARE OF SNAKES BUT. DO NOT HARM THEM.
