Spy Stone Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

37251: This cache doesn't get many finds any more and the hiding place is now overgrown.

It was one of my earlier placements, many years ago, so probably wasn't the best location for a cache, despite the view of the Observatory which was the whole point of bringing folk to this spot.

Thanks to all finders who have made the effort to find it and apologies to those who were unable to find it.

Geocache Description:

A small cache near Chilbolton, Hampshire, UK

This cache will bring you to the edge of Chilbolton, home of the world's largest fully steerable meteorological radar. The observatory, as it is known, studies cloud, ice and rain patterns and helps in the research for improved weather forecasting for the effects of weather on communication systems and understanding climate change, which seems to be something a lot of people are interested in these days. The observatory can be clearly seen from the cache.

You may also pass an old water tower, depending on your route to here.

Parking is available very close to the cache. If you are driving, please take care as the road surface is badly broken in many places.
