0844 Adoring Isadora Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

ThePharmGirl: Sadly, the new home owner asked for the cache to be removed. I will remove the physical container after the weekend of the Cache Ba$h so that people who already downloaded the coordinates aren't looking around needlessly.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the grounds of the historic Stephen F. Mayer House. Stephen F. Mayer (1854-1935) was a prominent West Bend figure and built this large Victorian home for his wife Isadora in 1893. The home was considered to be one of the "most handsomest and most convenient in the city" and it claims to have had the first indoor flushing toilet in West Bend, as well as using steam heat piped from the West Bend Brewing Company.

This cache is NOT winter friendly with more than a few inches of snow. Please do not step in the garden. The cache can be reached from the sidewalk.

This historic house is now a B&B. Feel free to walk to the bottom of the front yard to read the historic sign or grab a brochure from the front porch. If you'd like to stay here, mention you are a geocacher and you *might* get a discount (this was true when the cache was published). Permission to place this cache granted by owner Darrell Ziebarth.
