Nottinghamshires oldest cache, UKs 4th oldest Virtual, Englands 3rd oldest. The cache is located off the footpath. Footpaths are clear but may be muddy/wet in parts after heavy rain. An Historic Geocache - Classed as 'Ancient' (2001)
If you are travelling by car then I suggest you park in the village of East Leake Notts opposite St Mary`s Church next to the Three Horseshoes pub N52.83044 W001.18137. Follow the road up to Brookside School then right to The Nook and follow pathway, straight on at fork, then onto the public footpath taking the left path once through gate to Mill Lane at N52.82680 W001.17410 and past Manor Farm Animal Sanctuary and Woodland.
The walk from East Leake is not the shortest route (that is from Rempstone or the A6006) but is the most pleasant, about 1.2 miles to cache.
To solve the virtual cache - who was William`s wife? Be careful to read correct stone ie use coords.
