Geocache Description:

A LENDA DO CABO DA ROCA

A fadinha

There is a legend that says that near Cabo da Roca, a little boy disappeared from his mother's house, without his sad mother being able to know where he was. He was already presumed to have fallen down high to the sea and drowned.
But the truth was different. Some witches had taken him from his house and cast him into a cliff on a hill above the sea.
His cry was heard by the shepherds that quickly gave the news to the village. Many villagers with their disconsolate mother came out to help the poor boy. Getting it out of the seemingly inaccessible bottom hole was a complicated task, but they quickly succeeded. Everyone was glad to see him safe and sound, and soon his mother asked him who had put him there, and how he has eaten all that time. The boy explained that they had been women who had brought him up and thrown him into such a grave, but said that a very beautiful lady would bring him carnation soups every day for him to eat.
After the story was explained and all was settled, the whole village plus the mother and the boy went to the church to thank Our Lady for all that was well. Upon entering the church and seeing the Lady at the altar the boy said with these formal words: "Look mother, there is the lady who gave me the carnation soups every day for me to eat."

The cache - It is not in a cliff but in a breathtaking place, as well as all this place we know well.
There are small trails to the site so I ask you not to trample the flora of the place.
