Cacheserie - Mühlenweg im Wallhalbtal

Der Mühlenweg ist ein ca. 23km langer Wander- und Radweg von der Burg Nanstein in Landstuhl bis zur Faustermühle bei Thaleischweiler-Fröschen. Der Weg führt größtenteils durch das idyllische Wallhalbtal vorbei an 13 alten Mühlen. Manche Mühlen sind heute noch in Betrieb und produzieren Mehl oder Strom. Andere wurden zur Schafzucht umfunktioniert, zum Restaurant umgebaut oder dienen heute als Wohnhaus.

Dieser Cache ist Teil der Cacheserie "Mühlenweg im Wallhalbtal". Die Serie besteht aus 10 Caches plus Bonuscache mit einer Schwierigkeit von 1/1 bis 3/3,5. Wir haben versucht schöne Verstecke mit guter Aussicht auf die Mühlen zu finden. Es erwarten Euch: kleine Spaziergänge, ein paar Drive-In's, teils trickreiche Verstecke, kleine Klettereinlagen und vor allem viel Natur. Es sollte also für jeden etwas dabei sein. ;-)

Die Cacheserie lässt sich auch ideal als Radtour oder längere Wanderung (ca. 20km) an einem Tag machen. Wer unterwegs einkehren möchte, dem empfehlen wir die Kneispermühle. ist. Eine Karte vom Mühlenweg könnt Ihr Euch hier anschauen. Eine Tourbeschreibung (allerdings in umgekehrter Richtung)  mit Höhenprofil, GPX/OVL/KML Datei-Downloads findet Ihr hier.

Um den Bonuscache zu lösen, solltet Ihr die Bonuszahlen von den Deckeln der Cacheboxen aufschreiben.

The Mühlenweg is a 23km long hike and bike trail beginning at Burg Nanstein in Landstuhl and ending in Thaleischweiler-Fröschen with 13 old mills in between along the way. Some of these mills are still active today and producing flour and energy, while others are used for sheep farming, a bakery, restaurant, and or as a residence. The majority of the Muhlenweg is in a beautiful landscaped valley called "Wallalbtal" so enjoy the views along the way.

This Cache is part of the "Mühlenweg" series. We tried to find good hiding spots with a view to each mill, and used different size containers from nano to regular. There are 11 caches in all, 10 caches at mills plus a bonus cache with difficulty and terrain ratings ranging from 1/1 to 3/3.5

To locate the bonus coordinates you will have to write down the number found on each cache's container cap or lid. This series can easily be done in one day if you begin early and plan your routes accordingly. However, you may choose to have lunch or coffe at "Kneispermühle" and or grab a snack at Wallhalber Mühle. The tour can also be accomplished by bicycle. Mühlenweg 6 - Würschhauser Mühle


Die Würschhauser Mühle hat ihren Namen von der ehemaligen Siedlung "Werschhausen", welche 1293 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde. Im 30jährigen Krieg wurden die Mühle und der Ort vernichtet. 1725 wurde die Mühle als Mahl- und Ölmühle wieder aufgebaut. Die Mahlmühle ist noch heute in Betrieb, allerdings wurde sie 1924 umgebaut und erneuert. Die Wasserräder und die alten Mühlsteine mussten Wasserturbinen und Walzenstühlen weichen.

Parkt Euer Auto am Besten am Tennisplatz und spaziert dann entlang des Mühlenweges bis zur Würschhauser Mühle. Wenn Ihr den Cache gefunden habt, könnt Ihr den Mühlenweg direkt zur Konradsmühle weiterlaufen, wo der nächste Cache der Serie versteck ist. Bitte einen Stift zum Loggen mitbringen und nicht vergessen, die Nummer für den Bonuscache aus dem Deckel abzuschreiben. Zahl = F
   
Park your car at the tennis court and enjoy a little walk on the Mühlenweg to Würschhauser Mühle. If you follow the way, you'll reach "Konradsmühle" where the next cache of the series is hidden. Please bring a pen to log and don't forget to write down the number in the cap to find the bonus cache. Number = F
