Geocache Description:

This cache is set along one of several waymarked forest walks that are accessed from the Glen Doll car park (parking fee £2.00 per day)

The circular South Esk walk is approx 2miles/3km long and is marked by yellow bands on the marker posts. For the best views, we recommend you do the walk clockwise, starting with the Wee Crag cache. The riverside path is accessed from the far end of the picnic area. Apart from the first section the whole walk should be easily buggy-able with the caches within view of the path.

This section of the walk takes you to a deeper, slow moving part of the river compared to the fast moving shallows you will have walked past already. When the river is low enough a stony island can be seen in the bend in the river.

When you are crossing the bridge just past the cache make sure you stop for a few moments to admire the view of the upper part of the Glen. It's stunning!

After crossing the bridge a short trip through the forest takes you to the vehicle track leading back to the car park (and Scott Lodge) passing near to another 2 or 3 caches on the way. There is a great view towards Driesh on the walk back down. (Now you see why we recommend the clockwise trip!)

Due to the trees the GPS signal was iffy (although 2 separate GPS had almost identical readings). The clue should make sense if you are close to the cache though
