Help the Prince find The Princess

The Princess

Once upon a time there lived a princess. She was a very beautiful princess and she lived in a beautiful castle. The princess was very friendly and loved all the forest creatures, and they loved her too. However, her best friend was Snort the dragon.

One day a handsome prince was riding along near the castle and saw the beautiful princess in her castle. Then to his horror he saw a huge dragon and assumed that the princess was in danger. He drew his sword, lowered his visor and spurred his brave steed to charge. His first attack took the dragon off guard and he would have dealt the dragon a fatal blow, except that his horse was not as brave he thought, coming to a sudden stop at the sight of the dragon. This caused the prince to fly out of the saddle, over the horse's head and land on his back at the feet of the dragon. When he straightened his helmet, the prince found himself staring up into the face of the dragon.

To his complete surprise the princess appeared beside the dragon looking down at him. She helped him to his feet. He explained how he thought the ferocious dragon was attacking the princess and how he was trying to rescue her. This made Snort the dragon feel good because he had never thought of himself to be very fierce. The princess was impressed by the valour of the handsome prince who had tried to come to her rescue The prince was doubly happy because he had impressed the beautiful princess, and because he didn't have to fight any dragons that day.  From then on the prince, the princess and Snort the dragon were best friends.
