This is one of a series of eight Church Micros in Lewes, leading to a Bonus. In order to complete the Bonus cache you will need to collect a clue at each of the locations. These are not in the cache itself but in the grounds of these fine places of worship.
St Thomas á Becket (Cliffe High Street)
Situated across the river in the old parish of Cliffe, this church was thought to be founded by the Canons of Malling who came under Christchurch Canterbury. The church was built in honour of the martyred Archbishop in the late 12th century. According to legend, after the murder of Becket by the knights of Henry II, the guilty knights fled from Canterbury to the Benedictine.
The clue for this Church Micro is the date on the pump in front of the church in Cliffe High Street. This will give you T.
The actual cache is not near this pump, although is close to the Church building itself. Please note that the accuracy of the readings here are not great due to the buildings, but there is only really one suitable location (see hint).
If any body would like to expand to this series please do, we would just ask that you could let sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication
Please bring your own writing implement !
