Geocache Description:

Located in Upper Wai`anae Valley not far from the
Geocache known as "You've Been Lei`d Along the Old Flume
Road". This cache is NOT at the above location, which is the tunnel mouth, but 237 feet deep in the tunnel.

This is the fifth in a series of Geocaches that lead you to the many Entrances to the Underworld.

Are you brave enough to Enter the Underworld once more? If you have a FAST internet connection click here to see a YOU TUBE movie of what you will face trying to enter the underworld.

This tunnel was dug sometime before 1933 and has had water dripping from the roof for over 75 years. As a result there are a few STALACTITES to be seen.DO NOT TOUCH THEM OR THEY WILL BREAK OFF.

The Geocache contains a number of candles a First to Find Card, and a Guardian. The Guardian is called Pua`a Iki, the Small Pig. You mayDISCOVER him, BUT DO NOT TAKE HIM from the cache.

As in all tunnel caches you will need a flashlight to find your way around in total darkness. You will also have wet feet and if you don't keep your eyes up you will have a few bumps on the top of your head.

There are trails and roads to take you very close to the tunnel trail, BUT I did not clear this trail head. You will have to use your HEAD and GPS to find the trail head. When you find it you will find a cleared trail that just about reaches the tunnel.

Remember when you park at the forestry gate not to leave anything of value in your car/truck. There is always the chance of someone breaking into your car/truck.

This is also a Public Hunting area and so you should be respectful to the hunters. Try not to make a lot of noise by talking loud or shouting. You may run into their dogs. Don't show fear and you should be in good shape. Most hunting dogs will not bother you. As the hunters may be using firearms you should wear bright colors.

Enjoy yourself
