[EN] Modern Stations of the Cross “A Story of Hope and Suffering for Mankind” have been installed in open nature not far from the village of Stanovice.
Take this as an invitation for a short walk.

Vznik umeleckeho cyklu podporil nejen financne Kralovehradecky kraj a hejtman Pavel Bradik.

Socharsky cyklus Pribeh nadeji a utrpeni cloveka tvori: (nazvy jednotlivych plastik a jejich autori)
Zvestovani - Daniel Klose, Rouska Veroniky - Stanislav Hanzik, Zazrak nanebevstoupeni - Vojtech Adamec, Trnova koruna - Ellen Jilemnicka, Katedrala prosby - Vladimir Preclik, Svata rodina - Jan Koblasa, Svetlo v temnotach - Ivan Jilemnicky, Vykoupeni - Jan Hendrych, Pieta - Marius Kotrba, Slza - Vaclav Fiala, Krajina krize - Cestmir Mudrunka, Hledac - Michal Sarse, Lasky bolest - Jiri Marek, Brana nadeje - Jaromira Nemcova, Obelisk - Jiri Kacer.

Konec zkopirovanych kecu.

[EN] The Stations of the Cross at Kuks, or the project entitled “A Story of Hope and Suffering for Mankind”, is a modern approach to a 300-year-old idea of Count Frantisek Antonin Spork. The modern concept, which was not previously carried out because of controversy between the Count and the Jesuits of Zirec, has been developed by the sculptor Vladimir Preclik. Fifteen of the top sculptors in the Czech Republic, representing three generations, created the sculptures for this project from Horice sandstone.

A ceremony to open the Stations of the Cross at Kuks was held in October 2008. We have visited the place several times since and I am always amazed. It is up to everyone's taste whether they like the statues or not - but for sure it is an interesting place to visit.

Now what do you have to do to find the cache? Go for a walk to see the statues and when you find the one which we nicknamed "Alien" because of the antenna on his head (let's say his coordinates end with N xx° xx.x94' E xxx° xx.x81') and just simply measure 82 meters under the angle of 166° (don't follow the arrow exactly).

The hide: The cache is fairly visible from the right angle so you don't have to dig around. Just look carefully and you will see it - in a clean place. Really, leave the stumps alone! And don't worry about the cache - it has survived three-month testing already, it should be pretty safe there.

Parking: Originally the best parking place would be right of the road but the local grandpa has put up a sign there saying "Please don't park here". So you can park either at the nearby water station (see waypoint) or if you're tough enough, you can drive to the viaduct - I have seen cars there before, there is no prohibiting sign on the way.

Good luck - and enjoy the walk!
