Geocache Description:

Sunday, May 18th, 2008 Cache In Trash Out clean up.

GEOCACHERs of all ages are WELCOME!!! Including Newbies interested in learning the game, hobby, sport, or obsession?

Coffee and Donuts at 8AM
We will be at the shelter at 8am with a box of coffee and a couple dozen donuts.

WHERE's The Event? We have reserved the Allis State Park Shelter in Brookfield VT, and they hope to have rest rooms and running water for clean-up, turned on by the event date. There is plenty of parking for all. The park doesn’t officially open until the following weekend, so there will NOT be any admission charge for today’s event.

Driving directions yet to come… Stop in, have a bite to eat, enjoy the company and meet your fellow cachers…

CLEAN UP at 9 AM,
Cache In Trash Out Day is an opportunity for geocachers to help clean up the parks and other cache-friendly places throughout the world. Through our volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources. The park is pretty nice but the VT State Parks dept will give us a list of areas that need clean-up in the community. They will also have some regular spring clean up that we can help with, We will provide trash bags. Bring your own gloves and work clothes. There are restrooms if you wish to change after the clean up. If you are not able to come early enough to help with the clean up, come anyway, have a bite to eat, enjoy the company and meet your fellow cachers…

POTLUCK at Noon on May 18, 2008 We will have a large fireplace going from 11 am on, for anyone to use to cook hotdogs, burgers, steaks or whatever. Let me know what you can bring so we don’t end up with a bunch of the same stuff. We will provide some hotdogs or you can bring your own meats for the grill.

We will set an area for a TB swap, and print out some sheets for the new caches.

Photo contest I am looking for geo related photos of Nature. Any photo that shows the beauty of nature (beauty is in the eye of the beholder). The photo should be one taken by you or your team while geocaching. EMail you photo to me (djlasell2@gmail.com) or bring it to the event. Judgeing will be done at the event. There will be a small prize for winner.

Thanks to some very ambitious "Green-Up crews" there is very little trash to clean.

So I have volenteered to help the Allis State park with their spring maintenence. It will be mostly raking and a little brush removal at the campsites and along the trail.

Please bring a rake and some gloves. Since the snow stayed really late this year (last week there was still a little snow in the woods), they are behind schedule.

I believe there will be about 20 new caches in the area, to hunt and lots of prizes for the prize table
