Geocache Description:

Situated in the small coastal village of Manorbier, near Tenby in Pembrokeshire

Manorbier village, situated in the south-eastern part of Pembrokeshire within the National Park, is a small traditional coastal settlement. It is equidistant between Tenby & Pembroke, and can be accessed off the A4139 on the B4585. The cache overlooks the dramatic "Manobier Bay" beach in a beautiful section of the Pembrokeshire Coast and is at the footsteps of its imposing castle.

This cache is a replacement for a once well visited and yet now well muggled cache - "Kings Quoit". The original multi stage cache was a brisk walk around the dramatic headland along a small section of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

This is one of my favourite places in South Pembrokeshire, being a beach that is safe for children (with its amazing rock pools) plus a great place for walking the dog or flying a kite! To see it at its best, take a look backwards from the pounding waves and you will notice one of the most beautifully placed castles in the country carefully nestled within the landscape.

Manorbier Castle is perched on a rock just above the beach and was the birthplace of 12th century churchman Gerald of Wales, who described the village of Manorbier as “the pleasantest spot in Wales”.

Start at the Car Park at N51 38.660 W004 47.639 and let your common sense take over!
