The basalt massif of the Amöneburg is the salient center of the
Amöneburger basin.
Ein Foto der location wäre super!!
a picture of the location would be nice!!!
Deutsche Version:
Das Basaltmassiv der Amöneburg
Entstehung:
zutage tritt.
vertikale Formen.

English Version:
The basalt massif of the Amöneburg
Emergence:
Before the emergence of this basalt massif, this area consisted in
its substructure mainly of a partially powerful new red sandstone
base, which was increasingly changed at that time by interior
forces of the earth. The existing surface practiced a profound
transformation by elevations and lowerings of whole landscape parts
and because of that associated magma tables.
For dropping larger rockswollens volcanic forces were responsible.
The magma penetrated into tears, columns and cavities of the burst
base rock, pressed this often further upward and found its way
outward. There it did not step however to light, the broken rock
formations were only lifted, so that the lava remained being in
them and cooled off. In this way the massif of the Amöneburg
accured.
In the course of the millions of years the forces of the
decomposition formed ever more the today's landscape out. The loose
rock lying over the basalt was continued to blow up and shipped by
water and frost ever more downward, so that the harder basalt mass
was increasingly undressed and opened. Completely gradually the
visible mountain form of the Amöneburg developed.
Characteristics of the rock and ground structure:
In its main elements the Amöneburg predominantly consists of basalt
rock, which comes into different directions of attack superficially
to light. Remarkable is the structure of the rock at the so-called
Bilstein at the eastern side of the mountain, where the variety of
the columnar basalt steps out most clearly. The columns are
horizontal, partially perpendicularly and also diagonally
pronounced; besides there are also vertical forms. From the plan
view they appear honeycombed, but they are rather three to five
angular. Beside the basalts you can find at different places
basaltic tuffs or as well Trapp or Dolerit.
For the ground formation at the tendencies and boundary regions of
the mountain the occurring basal tables formations are primarily
important. They lead due to its chemical composition and also their
mineral wealth to nutrient-rich grounds, which particularly settles
in a partially close leafiness around the mountain.
