The Reserve derives its name from the Tosohatchee Creek which flows
through the northern portion of the reserve. The original name of
Tootoosahatchee was simplified by the previous owners of the area
to the present Tosohatchee (pronounced Tos-uh-hatch-ee). Native
Americans named the creek, which roughly translates to "chicken" or
"fowl".
This is one of the 4 traditional caches you must find in order
to get the coordinates to the mystery cache. It will help if you
try to find them in this order; 4 Ponds, Far Eastern Pond, Gator
Pond & Lake Charles.
If you do all 5 caches you will drive about 5+/- miles &
hike about 5+/- miles.
This cache is well hidden & it will contain a number that
you will need to write down. This number along with other numbers
that you will find in the other caches will help give you the
coordinates to the mystery cache.
The container for the Gator Pond cache is an ammo can.
Please make sure you close it tightly & replace it as you
found it.
PLEASE leave no trace of your being here & remove any trash
you find. Be watchful of the gators & snakes & enjoy the
outdoors.
Thanks to Tom O'Neil & his staff at the Tosohatchee Preserve
for giving me permission to hide this multi.
Call ahead for road conditions & there is hunting allowed here,
so be aware of the dates hunting is allowed.
