Geocache Description:

Magnetised 35mm film canister We have Motorway Mayhem. But what
about public transport users? SideTracked Caches are intended to
provide quick cache-and-dashes at train stations. It is hoped this
idea will spread across the country in the same way as the MMs.

Lymington Town Train station is a building that dates back to a
timber hut that was later replaced with the current yellow and red
brick building. The line was opened in 1858 as the Lymington
Railway Company but was absorbed into the London and South Western
Railway in 1878. The Lymington branch is unusual in that it is one
of the few places where older electric stock may be seen in
operation, a sadly neglected aspect of railway preservation. The
line operates two 3CIG EMU sets, converted from 4CIG units
shortened to fit the platform at Lymington Town. These are 1497
Freshwater running in BR blue/grey livery, and 1498 Farringford in
green livery. Beware of muggles, it is a quick dash and grab but
you need to be descret.
The containner holds a pencil, log and a
Badge for the FTF. Muggles on 2 wheels may be in the way.
