Sly2’s fifth cache is placed off-road, on a public footpath through fields (please make sure you stick to the footpath and enter and exit the fields via the stiles provided). It’s a lovely walk that geocachers could combine with Ravens' Roost, Soccer Star Jonny, Plumb Centre, Ash’s Keyring Cache . . . in fact, most of Sly2’s caches to date.
The cache is accessed via a public footpath, in fields where there are currently three Highland cattle (they seem very placid, but treat them with respect). Occasionally there might be sheep so please keep dogs under control. There’s no parking nearby so please resist the temptation to cache and dash: you can park in Shortwood, by the green or near the church, and walk from there.
The route follows a footpath up and down a steep valley so it’s not suitable for pushchairs. From Shortwood you can walk part of the way on a private road (restricted byway) and on a single-lane track: to keep peace with the local residents please DO NOT drive up either. You can take in Soccer Star Jonny on the way back to Shortwood which will take you across the fields behind the football club.
The cache is a bit bigger than the usual Sly2 sweet tin, so there’s room for more than a couple of TBs.

After being muggled I've reinstated the cache. Find the original site, then take six paces north east from the other side.

After a request from another cacher, I'm making this a Little Bridge so those that like nabbing all LBs now have another one to find.
The Little Bridges series was started by Stanthews in 2009 to highlight small footbridges in remote parts of Wiltshire. Since then the series has been expanded by others all over the country and starting to spread fast.
Damian from Winter Foxes has created and updates a list of cachers who has found 10 or more little bridges and can be found here, if you would like to add to the series, please contact Stan on stanthews@aol.com and he will give you a number for your bridge, to qualify, the bridge must be a foot bridge too small for vehicles, please make sure your title exactly matches “Little Bridges # xx then name” including spaces so it will get picked up and added to Damian’s list.
