Geocache Description:

A nano placed in a historical part of this village. Could be easy or hard (depending on how well you think), but take the time to check out the rest of the square when visiting.

The village of Delhi is a quaint one, especially in the summer when college is out of session. The historic village square is a great place and a spot that if you haven’t had the chance to see, you should. It amazes me how many people who live or work around here don’t realize how much is connected to that square.

It’s a perfect spot to show how Delhi is small-town America. The gazebo on the square was once featured on the cover of The Saturday Evening Post (July 7, 1951).

Surrounding the square are the historic courthouse, the former sheriff’s office and jail and a church with a clock tower. The bank is close by as well as the newer county office building and the Delhi Telephone company, which has proudly served the community for more than 100 years.

On the square will be historic markers, a place to relax, a very large historic statue (read the historic marker when there) as well as the gazebo.

Needless to say, this is a good historic spot to visit and absorb.

In the summers, the square hops every Friday in July for the annual Fair on the Square, so I’m sure I’ll have to keep an eye on this cache during those times.

This is a nano, so you’ll have to think a little, so it could be hard or could be easy. (Please remember to bring something to write with, too!) Enjoy and be careful of muggles as the area can be pretty populated! I’ll check the cache now and then, so if you log here, please make sure to sign the log inside the nano so they match up!

Thanks for visiting the cache!
