Abyste vypocítali finální souradnice cache „SYRÁKOV“, budete muset navštívit ješte cache: Panorama Liptál, Všemina a Fojtství Jasenná.
Výroba pálenek má ve Vizovicích tradici dlouhou již více než ctyri sta let. První písemný doklad o existenci palírny se totiž nachází v urbári vizovického panství z roku 1585, byt se vztahuje až k pozdejší dobe (polovina 17. století). V té dobe patrila pálenice vizovické vrchnosti a stála na námestí. Po case byla premístena do Štepské ulice, naproti panskému pivovaru. V neklidných dobách 17. a 18. století byla východní Morava tercem neprátelských nájezdu. Pritom byla ponicena také palírna, která si pak musela pockat na štedrou ruku majitele panství hrabete Prokopa Gervase Gollena. Hrabe nechal pred rokem 1725 ve Štepské ulici nákladem 433 zlatých postavit zcela novou palírnu vybavenou peti medenými kotli. Co se v nich pálilo?
Ze zacátku to byla zejména pálenka z pivních odpadku, pozdeji se k nim pridalo obilí, z nehož se vyrábela žitná. Kolem poloviny 18. století se ve výrobním sortimentu objevila pozdeji tak slavná slivovice. Zatím ješte spíše doplnkove, ale od pocátku 19. století její výroba díky státním prémiím nabývala na významu. Tehdy se ukázalo, že vlivem príhodných klimatických podmínek se práve na vizovicku mimorádne darí ovocným stromum a predevším švestkám (trnkám). Vždyt z úctyhodného množství 77 000 ovocných stromu, jimiž bylo ješte na zacátku 20. století poseto okolí Vizovic, bylo plných 68 000 švestek. Ohromné množství ovoce, které stromy rodily, bylo pro zdejší obyvatele duležitým zdrojem príjmu. Švestky se sušily, zpracovávaly na povidla a samozrejme se z nich pálila slivovice. Této tradici zustal kraj verný dodnes.

The production of spirit in Vizovice has an age-long tradition of over four hundred years. The first written record pointing to the existence of a distillery can be found in the records of the Vizovice estate dated 1585, even though the entries are related to a later period (mid 17th century). In those days the distillery, which was situated on the main square, belonged to the lord of the manor. In time it was moved to Stepska Street, opposite the brewery belonging to the local aristocrat. In the troubled times of 17th and 18th centuries East Moravia became the target of hostile invasions. The distillery, too, was damaged and so had to wait until the generous hand of the new owner of the estate Count Prokop Gervas Gollen came to its rescue. Some time before 1725 the Count had a brand new distillery built, including five copper cauldrons, in Stepska Street, at the cost of 433 pieces of gold. Now, what was distilled there?
Initially it was especially spirit made of beer dregs; later corn was added to produce rye brandy. Around the mid 18th century the famous Slivovitz appeared as a new product. As yet it featured as a mere sideline product, but as of the beginning of 19th century its manufacture gained significance thanks to state premiums. In those days it became clear that due to the influence of the favourable climatic conditions it was here in the Vizovice area that fruit trees, especially plums, flourished quite exceptionally. For out of the considerable number of 77,000 fruit trees in the environs of Vizovice still at the beginning of 20th century a full 68,000 were plum trees. The vast amount of fruit which these trees bore was an important source of income for the local inhabitants. Plums were dried, they were processed into plum jam and of course the folk distilled Slivovitz.
