Crystal Secret Traditional Geocache
squalid: We went to check on whether the cache was there, but sadly it has gone. It has had a good long life but we are not replacing it.

The cache is located in Crystal Waters estate, Keysborough. Around 5 years ago the land in this area was Market Gardens, but due to rezoning rapid development has occurred. The housing estate overlooks some 'lake' areas, that have been landscaped very attractively. The birds like it anyway - birdlife abounds. Bridges span the water and walkways run the length of what was originally a long rocky drainage area. The walkways lead past a large leisure centre and sporting fields. Presumably, land on the leisure centre side of the water will also be developed in due course. For this reason the cache is not positioned in any number of likely looking spots. It would not be good for the cache to be subdivided at a later date! The cache is actually quite a small container, a sistema, and will only take small swaps. Some stealth will be required when recovering the cache - timing is everything! Additional note June 2, 2020: I placed this cache twelve years ago. The land around here has been developed quite substantially since then but the cache remains in the same place. However, I note that some work is being done quite close to GZ at the moment so the cache may have to change position soon, I am just keeping an eye on things.
