Bring along a picnic basket and blankets or camping chairs and come and join us for a picnic at the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens on Sunday the 20/04/2008 from 11H00 – 15H00
We have been discussing a social event for ages in the Pretoria area and after the last “rained out” picnic in JHB we have decided to try again to enjoy a picnic outing and have a afternoon of relaxation to meet fellow cachers and exchanging the latest geo-stories.
The listed Waypoint is under trees close to public toilets for family convenience with a open play area for the kids. For those cachers that will not use a GPS, the location is in the centre of the gardens just south-east from the waterfall.
As a backup plan “B” (on a rainy day) I have discussed and made temporary bookings at the Mokha Restaurant which is located in the Pretoria National Botanical Gardens next to the parking area.
Opening Times and Costs:
The Garden is open 365 days a year from 08:00 to 18:00. No entry after 17:00. Ordinary entrance fees are R15 for adults and R5 for scholars and students (if a valid student card is shown).
Trackables welcome, we will run a formal register to ensure none are lost.
Please take note of the following:
Braais, gas fires and any ball games are not permitted. The garden has adopted a 'Carry-in Carry-out' Litter Policy and request that you take anything you bring or buy, back home for disposal.
