Geocache Description:

A Cache located near a popular windsurfing beach

Windsurfer meets logger and yes the sparks fly! This cache is located near a popular windsurfing beach. The beach is named after a long time windsurfer who was instrumental in developing the area into a park where windsurfers could rig their gear and launch to enjoy a nice day on the water. However the windsurfer for whom the park is named kept mixing it up with a local from a well known logging family. There was the name calling, grabbing, and a little tusseling. Would things spiral out of control between these two?

More on that later. There is a cache to find and we want to pass on the info you need to search for it. The cache is in an ammo can located a short way east of the park. You should not have a lot of trouble with muggles as it is a ways away from the windsurf beach. There may be a few fishermen checking you out but other than that it should be clear sailing. When you get to the park, walk down to the beach. You will see a path heading east away from the beach. Follow this path until you start closing in on the coords. If it is a big windsurfing day please don't be intimidated by the windsurfers. They are a pretty good group of folks who have a passion for wind and water.

Now back to the windsurfer that the beach is named after. Realizing that this area was a great place to windsurf, he worked with other sailers, landowners, and parks department to get this area turned into a park. And what about the member of the well known logging family that he kept bumping into. Did it get ugly? Did it get bloody? Well the answer is no. He ended up marrying her! Yes The windsurfer had fallen in love with one of the Stevenson girls. The same Stevensons that were and still are a big name in the logging community. I was not privy to the pet names they called each other, the grabbing and tusseling was usually not done at the beach.

Together they have done much for the community. They have volunteered in the schools, been a part of PTO and countless other community projects over the years. The windsurfer the park is named after also started a business known as Hood River Windsurfing. Today that same business is called Doug Sports and it is in Hood River.

So the whole Chaos crew hopes you enjoy Hunting for the cache. Please re hide the cache well for the next cacher. There is a ready to activate travel bug for the first to find.

And now you know the rest of the Windsurfer Meets Logger story. I'm Commander Chaos......Good Day.
