Geocache Description:

Moderate hike after visiting each county in South Carolina

Find a cache in every county in South Carolina and we'll give you coordinates to find this one!

The cache iat the posted coordinates!

To log this cache, you must simply find a cache in every county in the state of South Carolina. This will be easier than a lot of states because there are only 46 counties. We are rating this as a 5/5 for a couple of reasons: 1) you have to complete 46 caches before even thinking about logging this one and 2) there is a bit of a hike to get to the final. Throw in the fact that gas prices are so high and you have the makings of a tough cache!

Now for the rules: Generally accepted rules, guidelines, and conditions for logging a cache find apply. These must be bona fide caches listed on Geocaching.com that you have personally (physically) found and logged. You may include caches found prior to the creation of the Challenge so long as they meet all other Challenge requirements.

Online cache logs should include a statement that the cache was found as part of the South Carolina County Challenge. You may go back and edit previous finds to reflect this information.

Cache hides will not count toward the Challenge unless there are no caches to find in a county. At this time, there are caches in every county.

If a cache is archived in one these counties prior to your completion, you may also use a hide toward completion of this cache. Please email us before using this method, so that we may confirm that there are indeed no caches in that county and remember, that if you place a cache, you are required to obtain proper permissions and you will be responsible for maintaining the cache and removing any geo-litter. Cache must remain viable for at least six months after it is hidden or logs will be deleted.

Only physical caches with logbooks count as finds for the Challenge; event, locationless, virtual, and web cam caches will not count toward the Challenge. For multi and mystery caches the coordinates listed on the cache page will be used to determine what county the cache is in.

While you may have others with you when you find the final cache, only those who have fulfilled ALL criteria for this cache will be allowed to log it as a find. Find logs by other cachers will be deleted.

When in doubt ask, we can discuss it or even seek guidance from others, but the final decision rests with the cache owner.

The preferred method to confirm your finds will be for you to prepare a Bookmark list with the county name, Geocaching GC# and date found. This will be the quickest way to confirm the finds. If you need to use an alternative method for this confirmation, please contact us and we will work with you.

And last, but certainly not least...bring a nice trade item for the next finder. This cache will only have a few items at all times, but they will be nicer than the usual swag. So, with that in mind, bring something that you...as a geocacher, always enjoy finding (small gift cards, unactivated coins, etc.) to leave for the next person.

Container will be a medium lock-n-lock, so keep in mind that it should be relatively small.

There is ample parking in a couple of different locations to reach the final! How you get there is up to you!
