St Mary the Virgin Church stands at the side of the Seaford to Eastbourne road not far from Crowlink which is where E. (Edith) Nesbitt, author of The Railway Children, lived towards the end of her life. The oldest part of the church dates back to about 1050. The churchyard has a tapsel gate, an old Sussex type, which opens on a central pivot.
