Frédéric Chopin est un compositeur et pianiste polonais, né le 1er
mars 1810. Il est l'un des plus célèbres pianistes virtuoses du
XIXème siècle et un grand compositeur de musique romantique. Sa
musique est encore aujourd'hui l'une des plus jouées et demeure un
passage indispensable à l'appréhension de la musique au piano. Il
est, avec Franz Liszt, le père de la technique pianistique moderne
et à l'origine de toute une lignée de compositeurs tels Ravel et
Rachmaninov.

Cette adresse est la première demeure parisienne de Chopin, au 5e
étage. De sa chambre,il découvrait Paris « de Montmartre au
Panthéon ». Cette première année parisienne de 1831à 1832, fut une
année d’attente, de travail dominée par les soucis
financiers, mais ce fut aussi une année féconde en compositions
musicales.

avec elle dans cet appartement, entresol sur cour, où il mourut, le
17 octobre. Ce fut le dernier de ses neuf domiciles

of March 1810. He was one of the most famous 19th century pianists
and an exceptional composer of romantic music. Even today his music
is one of the most often played and is a must for any classical
pianist. He is, with Franz Liszt, the father of the modern piano
technique and has influenced many composers such as Ravel and
Rachmaninov.

This was Chopin’s first home in Paris. He lived on the 5th
floor. From his room, he could view Paris ‘from Montmartre to
the Panthéon’. His first year from 1831 to 1832 was a year of
expectation, of hard work, and financial worries, but it was also a
