This cache is a tribute to an incredible feat of iron-age engineering that is the Colchester dyke system. There are many, seemingly random, defensive earthworks around Colchester and the cache is placed on a footpath alongside one of them.
Please visit the link to the Colchester Archaeological Trust website to learn more, but even if you're not interested in the historical aspect of this cache, it's still a lovely walk!
