Will the wind ever remember

The names it has blown in the past,

And with this crutch, its old age and its wisdom

It whispers, "No, this will be the last."

And The Wind Cries Mary...

Of most importance: Be respectful while you are visiting this cache and its optional ending.

The best days for visiting are: November 27th & September 18th, but any day is appropriate. If you visit in December, you may have the added opportunity of helping to decorate the Jimi Hendrix Memorial Christmas tree. Do not forget your camera!

Parking: is available approximately 360ft away at McDonalds. Please do not park in Greenwood's parking lot, on the road, sidewalk, or block any gates with your vehicle. If you drive to the optional ending, you should use Greenwood's main entry and park at the round-a-bout that encirles the the granite structure in the photo above. A wheelchair ramp is available there.

Details: This is the first cache I have placed and it replaces the now archived virtual/puzzle cache "The Wind Cries" (GC331F). This is NOT a multi or a puzzle cache. It's a traditional with an optional ending. The cache should only be obtained from the sidewalk side of the fence and is not meant to be a difficult find. I intend for this one to be wheelchair and child accessible. Please contact me if it is not and I will move the cache and the coords to a more suitable spot. Current coords are averaged for 7.9ft accuracy. Today I bring you within 225 feet of where I’d like you to visit, the Jimi Hendrix Memorial. The memorial is an optional ending location which is visible from any route you take on your way to the cache (see photo above). Take a few extra moments from your busy schedule of work, family, caching, and getting FTF’s to sit where this cache leads to next. The cache itself can be accessed 24-7, but the optional ending should not be attempted at night. When you leave the physical cache, you can walk or drive to the memorial during daylight hours. Bring flowers, something music related, drawings, poetry, or anything small (no TB's or geocoins at the memorial please) to leave behind where this cache leads you to next. -Non-geocachers have been doing so for nearly 40 years. Be sure to take photos at the memorial and post them when you log your find. The new "expandable" cache container has room for small TB's, geocoins, or pathtags but virtual drops are welcome. If you have the time, be sure to stop by Greenwood Cemetery's office and sign the Jimi Hendrix Memoral Guestbook.

My father taught me many things. One of which was a broad love of music and musical styles. Every year since I was able to drive, I’ve come to this place to pay my respects to an individual who constantly colored outside the lines, and always thought outside of the box.

Thank you for all that you gave to us Jimi, and thank you too Dad.

FTF: Congrats to the Tomison Clan on FTF. I think I'm going to buy stock in gas and oil, make caches all day, and watch the Tomisons alone make me rich. ;) -Mr. Tomison also informs me that I need to invest in Gatoraid and car tire companies.

Special thanks to: 2Dad and KJ tha Hunter for removing live bullets and a racist sticker from the cache on 5/17/09. and to TheMcMorrows for retrieving the cache from a hard to get to place on December 29, 2010. Also to Tyler MacNiven (Winner of The Amazing Race -season 9) & Lennlee Keep (film producer) for choosing this cache to be part of their TV show called Treasure Trackers in 2011.
