Geocache Description:

You're looking for a magnetic container. It's a micro, so bring your own writing stick as there's no room for one.

In 1817 a log dam was built across the Cuyahoga River just east of what is now State Route 91. This dam provide power for both a saw and grist mill, which were constructed on either side of the dam. In 1836 the Munroe Brothers of Boston purchased 200 acres of land in the area and named it Munroe Falls. The wooden dam was soon replaced by a more permanent stone dam.

For many years these dams provided a nice "fall" in the river.

But, now the dam has been removed leaving only a ripple on the Cuyahoga River.

At near flood - March 2008

The view from the Rt. 91 bridge is nice, and we've actually seen eagles, hawks, and herons flying over the area. So, while you're here enjoy the view of the river that is now back to it's "natural" state.

The best parking spot is at Brust Park, just north of the river on Rt. 91.

Congratulations to N8RKA for the First To Find!
