Geocache Description:

The Fourth in a series of caches set whilst training for the 2008 Trailwalker Event.

Hopefully, come 19-20 July 2008 I am going to (try to) do the Oxfam Trailwalker Event. You can find out more about the event via Google! It is a 100km hike from Petersfield to Brighton non-stop. The time limit is 30 hours, though I'd hope after training we can do it in a few hours under that. The total ascent is greater than the height of Ben Nevis and Snowdon combined.

I must be mad. To add to the challenge it is a team event, and all must finish to count. I am competing with three women from work. None of us are fit or have done anything like this, so hopefully there will be plenty of practice and plenty of new caches on trails in the next few months!

This cache was placed whilst on a circular 12 mile walk from the station car park at Leatherhead, along the River Mole to Westhumble, then joining the North Downs Way up through Denbies Vinyard then back through Chapel Wood, Crabtree Cottages and Norbury Park, before going down Hawks Hill via Bocketts Farm and back home!

If you have ANY tips or thoughts that could help us on succeeding in this challenge (kit, clothing, training, walks to do - ANYTHING relevant!), please either leave them in your log or on the Groundspeak Forum.

Alternatively you could leave a comment on my (very boring) training blog at (visit link) which will also tell you how badly my training is going!

I really will appreciate all comments.
